Where we work across Vaughan and York Region
Local knowledge is not a marketing line in this trade. The ground under Concord behaves differently from the ground under Kleinburg, and it changes how the base gets built.
In Vaughan
The neighbourhoods we are in most weeks
Each one brings its own conditions. These are the things we are already thinking about before we pull into the driveway.
Woodbridge
Older streets off Islington with mature trees, so root heave and tight side-yard access drive most of the work here.
Maple
Late-90s subdivisions where the original builder asphalt is at the end of its life and driveways are being converted to stone.
Kleinburg
Long rural-style approaches and heritage-district frontages that call for wider aprons and softer, natural stone tones.
Thornhill
Compact lots and shared drives where layout and neighbour access have to be sorted before a shovel goes in the ground.
Concord
A mix of residential and light industrial frontage, so heavier base builds for delivery vehicles are common.
Vellore Village
Newer builds with settled backfill around the foundation, which changes how the base near the house is prepared.
Patterson
Sloped lots north of Rutherford where retaining walls and stepped landings usually come with the patio.
Sonoma Heights
Wide corner lots and double drives, which makes pattern layout and border detailing especially visible from the street.
Local conditions
What changes from one part of the region to the next
These four things account for most of the difference between two quotes on two similar houses.
Clay holds water, and water is the problem
Much of Concord and the older parts of the city sit on heavy clay. It does not drain, so a base built to a patio spec under a driveway stays wet all winter and moves every time it freezes. On clay we go deeper and put more thought into where the water leaves.
New subdivisions are still settling
In Vellore Village, Patterson and the newer Kleinburg builds, the backfill against the foundation has not finished consolidating. Laying tight to the house without accounting for that is how a patio ends up with a dip along the wall three years later.
Mature trees decide where a walkway can go
The established streets through Woodbridge and Thornhill come with large maples and the root systems to match. Cutting major roots to force a straight line kills the tree and heaves the stone anyway, so we route around them and say so at the quote.
Access changes the price more than size does
A machine that reaches the back yard turns a week into three days. Where the only way through is a side gate, material moves by track barrow and the labour line goes up. It is the single most common reason two similar-looking yards quote differently.
Beyond the city
Municipalities we cover on the same schedule
Close enough that the crew is on site at the same hour they would be in Woodbridge.
- Richmond HillNeighbouring York Region city we cover on the same schedule as Vaughan.
- King CityLarger properties north of Vaughan with long driveways and rural drainage considerations.
- BramptonEast Brampton within reasonable reach of the Vaughan yard.
- North YorkSouth of Steeles, where permit rules and boulevard restrictions differ from York Region.

Questions about where we work
If the answer you need is not here, ask. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you find out something important after the deposit.
(905) 555-0142Do you charge more to travel outside Vaughan?
Not within the municipalities listed on this page. Our yard is in the city, so Richmond Hill, King City, east Brampton and North York are all inside a normal working commute. Beyond that we will still look at the job, but travel starts to show up in the price and we will tell you before the visit.
Is the permit process different in each city?
Yes, and it matters most on driveways. The City of Vaughan controls driveway width relative to lot frontage and anything in the road allowance. North York sits under Toronto's rules instead, which treat boulevard parking and front-yard paving quite differently. We handle the application either way and factor the timeline into your start date.
How far ahead do I need to book in my area?
The calendar fills roughly the same across the region. May through August is usually committed by early spring, so a quote in January or February is what gets you a summer install. Late season, in October and November, tends to have room and often better pricing.
My street is not listed. Do you still come out?
Almost certainly. The list covers where most of our work is, not a boundary we refuse to cross. Call with the address and we will tell you honestly whether it is a reasonable trip for us, because a crew driving an hour each way is not doing your job any favours either.
Give us the address and we will tell you straight
If your street is a sensible trip for the crew we will book a visit. If it is not, we would rather say so than send someone who is watching the clock.
